Another jewel of wisdom for beginners...

When you prick your finger on a pin and bleed all over the shirt you are making, it's time to go to bed.

  1. No, the first time is a fluke- you have to do the same foolish thing twice to declare it time to retire. Or is that just me?

    2. I have sewn the same seam the wrong way twice. When you realize your mistake the second time, that feeling is pretty undescribable.

    Toss it immediately into a bucket, give it a scrub and then leave it to soak in fresh water, the next morning it should be OK!

    1. I got to it immediately with some cold water. It all disappeared except for one little spot I missed on the collar. I'm thinking that a little enzyme eating stain remover should do the trick.
      Lover your gingham shorts too btw!

    1. Totally fine. I've had much worse mishaps back when I was in school involving exacto knives and metal rulers. Turns out the tip of your thumb will grow back! More than once!

  5. A trick I learned from an internship with interior design sewer... suck it out. Something about your own saliva's enzymes takes it right out
